My bet is still there and i will keep texting for her. The constant in this world is CHANGES… i hope that for this coming days they will change their rule of having the Grand winner… it should be 50/50 from text votes and from the jurors which more knowledgeable than the views in the field of music and entertainment….

If that will happend i’m sure my bet will have more chance than having pure text vote based only….

About ABS-CBN;
I go with those who are thinking na this station is making up the results.How can we really know na the result is credible?Hindi ko narinig na merong nag-o audit ng results ng botohan (e.g., Auditing Firm). Or, at least man lang, ipakita nila corresponding votes ng mga scholars…
On the other hand, walang dapat na ika-sakit ng loob ng mga scholars (at mga viewers/fans) kung na vote out sila (or vi-note out man sila ng ABS). Why?
1. Ginawa silang sikat ng ABS. Di naman sila sikat ngayon kung hindi dahil sa station. Borrowing from Direk Joey Reyes’ line “24/7 silang pinapanood ng tao, kahit tulog sila, pinapanood”. They’re just ordinary people before and yet gained popularity through abs-cbn.
2. Nag-invest ang ABS sa kanila. Of course, kelangan nila makabawi. PAngit mang pakinggan na business is business, kelangan yan to survive and for ABS to give us good shows.NO MONEY, NO GOOD SHOW
3. Tayong mga viewers, nag-eenjoy tayo cause we’re seeing very good (though others are not good) talents. Which make me proud kasi Filipinos are once again proved to be the best in the world! (And very good din sa pagtingin ng gwapo at maganda, kahit di kagalingan)
4. Wala akong matandaan na sinabi ng ABS na singing contest ito (though clear na singing ang labanan). The show’s objective is to get fans/viewers no matter what.Plus, it really pays to be good looking and versatile, in a sense.Para masustain ang kasikatan dito sa Pinas, kelangan kang ma-expose sa tv palagi thus, kelangan di lang pagkanta meron ka, to be a total performer/entertainer, you must learn to act,dance,sing & of course, be good looking. Take the case of Christian Bautista, Sarah Geronimo, et al, nasa acting stage na sila kasi the people liked them and WHAT THE PEOPLE WANTS, THE VIEWERS GETS, kasi diyan kikita ang station.
5. The Reality of Life (and this is a Reality Show): Kung kagamit-gamit ka, didikitan ka at ibi-build up ka, if not, sorry na lang. Masakit ito pero showbusiness is a two-way ticket:NANGGA-GAMIT AT NAGPAPAGAMIT.
But one thing’s for sure-parehong makikinabang ang bawat kampo

For the SCHOLARS;
YVAN - I was really shocked when he was eliminated (di ko gusto ang expelled, its a very pessimistic word) last saturday. I’m not an Yvan fan but I appreciate his talent. He’s good in every way, and he deserve to be in the Honor List of six. But then,that’s the game. This is not the end for him, take Christian Bautista as an example. Go, follow your dreams!

ROSITA- Yeah, she deserves to go but i strongly believe ABS dropped her out. Sa mga polls,antaas ng ratings nya,she’s 2nd to Yeng pero biglang na-vote out sya.I don’t believe na di sya binoto ng mga Rosita fans besides PDA’s negative campaign against her. Kapag fan ka, kahit anong ipakita, iboboto mo idol mo.And why did PDA dropped her out?
a. Her attitude is really annoying…Enough has been said about the paawa effect, she really acts immature. Remember the conflict with Yeng?The bottomline of that is she’s out of tune,wala sa tyempo and di alam ang lyrics. Chorus ng PDA theme song, hindi man lang minemorize?gosh, that’s unprofessional!Plus,nang-iwan sa ere,di na tinapos ang kanta..another unprofessional act!
b. She already got mayabang and over-confident. Kala kasi nya favorite sya ng teachers…di totoo yun, iniintindi lang sya.
c. She’s not versatile. Can’t really sing songs beyond her comfort zone

IRISH - Lamang lang sya ng isang paligo sa kantahan versus Michelle. She’s not really that good. She’s pitchy. I’d pick Eman in her place

CHAD- Full of attitude but lacks the voice. But i like him being responsible and brainy. I’d pick Yvan in his place

RONNIE-He’s got the voice but lacks total performance. I like him though for being mabait and magaling magluto. I’d pick Joan in his place

PANKY - Yea, she’s damn good but hey, her attitude really stinks.Kahit pa sabihing nagpapakatotoo, common, iiwanan ka ng tao pag ganyan ugali mo. And so she goes, nagpakabait….For the last weeks, ambait bait sa lahat ng scholars, at dikit ng dikit kay Yeng. Im giving her the benefit of the doubt pero when i remember her being so sarcastic “its over” when RJ left the academy, she’s being “plastic” at this stage na kelangan niyang magpa-bango sa publiko. I’d still hope na she’ll change her bad attitude totally.I BELIEVE ABS TOOK HER IN THE FINAL SIX. I like her FAIRYTALE composition, pang-international talaga, for CLASS A ears. Attitude lang talaga kelangan niyan baguhin. She still deserve to be in the final six

JAY-R : This guy’s a BLAST!Kakaaliw talaga sya inside the academy but when performance comes, total focus naman. His voice is identified as being manipis and mataas. Pag kumakanta, you’ll know its Jay-R..unique voice, good looks, has the right attitude, good dancer. Total performer. He’ll definitely be one of those whom ABS will give a gag show or a soap after PDA. Of course, he deserve to be in the top 6

YENG : She’s the reason why i get hooked on to PDA.And those who are saying that ABS will let her win, i have good reasons for that;
a. She’s the reason why PDA vol.1 turned gold through Hawak-Kamay. ABS “will” just give the favor back to Yeng. Pansinin niyo sa lahat ng volumes, andun siya kasi people like her for her music. Yes, she may not have the best voice and face but she has the total package in which her other characteristics not overshadowing her musical ability
b. She’s honest. The reason why teens love her is that she represents them for being true to their feelings. Na-i inlove, energetic, full of dreams. I like her being childish, makes me love her more
c. She likes to learn. Every lesson, i see her holding a pen and a notebook, taking down notes which would make her a better performer.
d. She’s maximizing her talents. Every now and then, we see her composing songs, i like her for that attitude. Napapakinabangang maigi ng ABS ang kanyang mga compositions. Nasa loob pa lang siya, dami na niya kino compose. I’m sure, some of them will still hit the charts
e. OA -ok yan, may teleserye na siya.hehehe.
f. Her voice has distinction also, like JR. I like her interpretation of every songs, there’s always new to it-and you’ll definitely know its Yeng. I’ll spend my bucks if she does her own album with her compositions and some covers (I will survive,Cry,Crush,In my Life,Torete,Bulong!,Together Again, plus the classic “For Once in my Life” also sung by many aspiring American Idols…trust me, this song is great for Yeng!)

I just cant believe that the voting last saturday was very tight. I believe that PDA fans/viewers/voters are here in this forum. And for so many weeks, the polls here are almost accurate. If that’s the case, showing the poll results here showing that Yeng is way ahead of about 30%, how did it came out that the results is that stiff?
AGAIN, THE RESULTS HAS BEEN MANIPULATED. Why?Because marami ang nagsasabi na favorite nila si Yeng kaya para hindi halata,Yeng’s votes were trimmed down.Haayyyyyy!!!

The PDA is not supposed to be a popularity contest…. This is supposed to be an academy where we have teachers who give grades…. The scholars should be assessed according to their total performance and not popularity. Enough of the text votes please…..

gaya nga ng nasabi ko kahapon…….your votes don’t speak of the success ng mga idols nyo……..temporary lang ang maibibigay nyan….if pAGDATING sa mga albums nila kaya ba nyo bumili ng multiple copies para maging gold man lang if not platinum……bibili rin ba kayo ng tickets para sa concert nya….at isasama mo mga relatives mo or kaibigan para mapuno man lang nya kahit music museum (excluding ang mga compli na tickets ha)……

I truly agree on your views about ABS-CBN way of giving us good shows…obviously ABS-CBN is here giving us the shows for business, there’s NO doubt on that, they are paying the talent fees of those artists, so of course they invested their money too…and in that way, they deserve to get back what they’re investing.

Ohh gosh, i enjoyed reading your ” kilometric ” post hehehe…it is very detailed but worth reading for …i don’t mind reading longer post as long as i can learn something from it. You have a very MATURE outlook in everything you wrote in there…and KEEP IT UP!

Likewise, i like reading the blog entries here…but i always have my fair judgment within me and i am hoping that we will just enjoy writing positively about our bets or favorite scholar/s and not try to invest our emotions trying to degrade other scholars….so we can savor the FUN in admiring our scholars…because at the end of this PDA…they don’t know us and too bad to be fighting over a very petty issue…why not gain friends here instead of enemies ? hehehehehe

soooooo personally, im truly excited to watch on DEC 16TH…usually it is shown here in vegas around 530am SATURDAY (take note the time), 530AM i am already shouting in my room hahahahaha!!! Like last saturday, Dec 9…i was very HAPPY and jumping on my bed and screaming when JAY-R’s name was called hahahahaha and my mom was knocking my door if what happened to me (giggles)….unknowingly waking up my mom n dad because i was sooo loud….the excitement watching the PDA THRILL last Dec 9 really got me big time hahahahaha…my mom thought i was having a nightmare lol…remember when chad went up first when jay-r name was called…i was shouting like crazy unminding my mom’s knocking on my door thinking something bad was happening to me…they are not watching PDA at all…im the only one hooked up on PDA…well, were only 3 in the house hahahaha, my mom, dad and myself…sooo they dont mind or they dont even know what PDA is all about, i have NO siblings soo ako ra ang nabaliw sa PDA…kaya i voiced it all here sa forum kasi wala akong masabihan sa bahay hehehehe soo i am blurting it out here sa forum kaya MATATAAS yung entries ko dito but it is worth it…i learned a lot also from the scholars, teachers

Imagine, we are there monitoring or watching the scholars from day 1 since PDA started, we witnessed how these 6 scholars mingled with the rest, how they performed and how they enjoyed each other…and HOW they looked BEFORE…and you can obviously SEE the REAL TRANSFORMATIONS on how ABS-CBN groomed the scholars to be what they are now…That alone is a very great appreciation…

Take for example rosita…i will just talk about her physical feature…before, we all knew that rosita’s face is not like that…right? but now, we can see the MOST IMPROVED face of rosita, and her voice too…she improves a lot…sooo from that alone…that is a very BIG THANK YOU already for ABS-CBN/PDA, besides the FAME that you got because ABS-CBN helped u to be known to us…

So it is really a 50-50 deal between the scholars and PDA/ABS-CBN…it is just up to the scholars on how he/she deals her life INSIDE the academy so he/she could gain the trust and confidence from the people…

I haven’t heard of any school wherein students can pass because of popularity and statistics….. I know PDA is a reality show but since it is also called an academy then so be it….. Text voting should not be the basis because it would be unfair to those scholars who do not have the money to spend on text messages.

i don’t know why ABS would manipulate the votes. kasi kaya may voting process para makuha nila ang timpla ng tao. kung sino yung mga mas gusto ng tao, sila ang mas kikita ng pera para sa network. kaya i don’t think they have any incentive to cheat.

i agree sanjo. if this were really a talent contest then who gets to stay should depend on the jurors. kaya 6 times more of a talent search ang philippine idol. voting lasts 1 hour only right after the performances para mas maensure that the public will make their choice based on the competitors’ performance. hindi tulad ng pda, maiimpluwensyahan talaga yung desisyon mo ng ibang factors dahil buong linggo ang botohan at hindi naman nakasentro sa pageexhibit ng talent nila yung palabas. tulad na lang sa thread na to, bakit maraming may ayaw kay panky? dahil daw mukhang mabaho, salbahi, at kung anu-ano pa. bakit maraming ayaw kay yeng? dahil childish daw at OA. pero these things don’t figure in on the way they perform. but what you have to understand is that in a show like this, all of those reasons are viable. pda is basically a quest for the next big thing in pop. it’s all about mass appeal. if you choose to join pda and you have all the talent in the world pero kung pangit ka, salbahi, pango, may galis, mahilig mamboso, tsaka may putok hindi ka talaga pipiliin ng tao. mas may chance kang manalo sa philippine idol. dahil don, kung semi-talented ka lang, ryan cayabyab will beat your ass in front of so many million viewers hanggang sa marealize ng tao na wag kang iboto.

my top 3 would be panky, jr, at tsaka ok ok yeng. having irish in the top 6 is already something to celebrate for me. but then i’d still vote for her cause i want to help her out. kill me, but i like her best among all the scholars and honestly believe that she deserves her spot. ang daming pseudo singers sa pilipinas tulad niyang mga bossa nova ek ek na yan na kayang kaya lampasuhin ni irish. go pa rin irish! many people believe in you!

Amen to what you wrote! I too followed Phiippine Idol. This show is just based on talent. My bet was Gian but I liked Mau too. Kanya lang I thought Gian was THE all around performer. Mau deserves to be the winner din naman.
PDA is so different. It is a reality show not just a talent search. They are monitored by cameras so their characters aside from their performances are the basis for the people’s votes (which hopefully count and are not actually manipulated by ABSCBN)

I like your choices - Panky, JayR and Yeng. I think lang that JayR needs the top prize (the money) most. The opportunities for all 6 are already waiting after the contest anyway,.. So good luck to our bets!!!!

Hi guys!im back! Thanks for those who appreciated my post. PDA fans are at least getting matured-hindi na nag-aaway sa petty things…Carla’s right,we must savor the fun in admiring our scholars, coz in the end, kahit magpakamatay ka for them, very little ka ma-rerecognize. The recognition that we,fans could only get is the fact that we’re being fed with the music we want.

1. Nikki Gil’s a breakthrough. She’s handled her hosting job very well. She’s got the “Class” but not sacrificing the “masses” touch. I must say that I love her more than the other hosts (Toni, Bianca, Mariel). She’s the youngest in age and in the industry but she definitely overshadowed the others. Good job Nikki!Hope to see more hosting jobs for you.
2. PDA’s far better than the senseless PBB!!!!!! To ABS-CBN, please, wag ng ibalik ang PBB-its a crap!Spend your time and money on finding raw & talented Filipinos all over the country. Its what we need so that the industry would get competitive singers. The more stiff the competition is, the better talents we get.
3. Lea’s words are soooooooooo damn true. She’s definitely the Filipino’s pride!So humble and very much far talented! And ohhhh, for those scholars who don’t know her husbands name-its Robert Chen.hehehe
4. SCHOLARS’ & PEOPLES’ BETS:

Kahit saan di talaga pantay pantay ang treatment… kaya expected narin yan na sa PDA ganun din pero nasa scholar na yan paano makuha ang attention ng teachers and viewers… Look at panky they always thought that she was misunderstood on her own way nakuha nya ang attention ng teacher at viewers from being misunderstood to doing hard to be understand malaking bagay na yon para makilala at maitatak sa isipan ng manunuod even they hate her or not ang importante sa lahat nakilala sya… Second to Rosita people watch her moves inside the academy kahit sabihin na nagbabaitbaitan sya what is important nacontrol nya ang sarili… and she is welling to learn my her misstep.

Naku Carla, like you PDA seems to be creeping too much into my system. Ako naman eto, It is almost midnight. I just came from a dinner meeting pero eto… instead of going to bed eh nakikibalita muna dito sa forum. I hope our bet Jay R wins. It is fun to read most of the comments here. I agree people are becoming more mature and open-minded in this forum.
The top 3 contenders from the messages posted here are JayR, Yeng and Panky (not in any order). THey are all good so okay na rin whoever among them wins.
I believe that if ABS-CBN will control the results, they will give the grand prize to Yeng. Di pa tapos ang PDA, they are already earning a lot from the PDA album especially from Yeng’s hit Hawak Kamay.. She will most likely be given an exclusive contract not just with the recording company but also sa ABSCBN. That’s fine with me. I just hope they also take care of JayR and Panky.
Ronnie, Irish and Chad - the great lookers in the top 6 are stars in their own right. Even without the same level of musical talents as JayR, Panky and Yeng (plus Yvan, JoAnne and Davey) they may still get good opportunities after PDA. I also found Iya good. Better ang voice nya than Michelle but she was eliminated earlier than the latter. Michelle naman aside from being a pretty site to behold is super kind and accomodating. She is the female counterpart of Ronnie- mabait and hindi ma-intriga.

i found out something talaga today…last week sa digitalmartian.com i bought epins on wednesday and friday then i voted it right away…sabi sa digitlmartian…200 votes for $11.99 soo i was thinking 200 votes lang talaga…soo sa friday i bought like 10 pcs of 200 votes as additional sa wednesday ko….sooo sa friday i voted the 10 pcs of 200…but i was surprised kasi they gave me 500 VOTES x 10 pcs =5,000 votes hehehehe…akala ko 2,000 votes lang yun kasi sabi sa site nila 200 votes for $11.99 sooo i was really happy because they gave me 5,000 votes on that friday….

but i believe that panky is one of the most talented among the six. pero d lng kc talent ang criteria. come to think of it, ang daming magagaling na singer dito sa pinas! kahait saan ka pupunta maraming magaling gumawa ng kanta at umawit. pero what the pinoy wants is someone they could look up to! tingnan mo c sarah geronimo, i don’t think she that very good, pero mabait kc at may appeal sa masa at mga bata at youth, kaya xa sumikat. i don’t think panky could have that same appeal with the people, given how she acted inside the academy! may pa-suicide drama pa xa, remember?? and could we idolize someone who has suicidal tendency and believes that “suicide is the highest form of art?”

One last round of brutal honesty. Direk Joey had his final session with the scholars to comment on the final six’s performances. And despite it being the last, it wasn’t any different from the previous Direk Joey sessions. Everyone knew what to expect; and everyone got what they expected from him.

Panky was the first to fly under his radar. “Di mo alam how much people admire you,” Direk Joey advised. “Na-recognize nila na ang perception nila sayo ay negative, yet you are here in the top six… people voted for you for your talent, and you owe it to them.”

“Dinaan mo lang sa attitude… at nakalusot ka!” Direk Joey couldn’t even muffle a curse as he directed this statement to Chad. However, he also noted that people’s expectations for him are high because of his vocal talent as well. But his bread and butter is definitely his image: “You are quiet and mysterious… (people like you because) people don’t know you.”

He also noted what Irish and Ronnie had in common: they were able to get into the final six because of their looks. He advised Irish, however, to be more than a pretty face, because he knows she has great potential. And he gave Ronnie a confidence booster, as well: “Ikaw na ang bagong underdog.”

He already knew what to expect from Jay-R and Yeng, and of course Direk Joey told them to let this great aura of confidence carry them towards Saturday. He reminded them however, that the pressure for them was as great, especially for Yeng: “May number one hit ka habang nasa loob ng Academy ka pa… tatagan mo ang loob mo kase ang pressure sayo ay malala.”

Finally, he told them to be humble. “Matuto kayong makisama mas lalo na sa mga (maliliit na tao), dahil sila ang nangangailangan ng pakikisama niyo. Be nice, and pagpakatotoo kayo.”

I bought mine thru digital.com and has 25 e-pins so far. I haven’t used them, I am waiting until Friday too. Just dont have much time during the weekdays because of work. When I first bought e-pins it was thru digital.com too. When u purchase through online, you have to set your own password, then when you’re ready to vote, you need to log on and get your e-pins, then you’re ready to vote for your favorite scholar.

The 1st time I purchased e-pins was last Saturday morning - 5:30AM(CA Time), just right after Jay-R’s performance. They only gave me 1000 votes though, I spent about $59.99. I didn’t pay attention though of how much votes it gave me. You once mentioned about load.com, but I thought those were intended to load your cellphones only. (I have cingular).I plan to purchase more e-pins by friday. Please let me know if there are better deals out there. I will e-mail you tomorrow……and will discuss more about this, okie dokie.

I think si Irish meron talaga syang potential…maging maka-masa lang sya… huwag masyadong sosyal dahil nga mesiza na sya…she should be like …maganda’t mestiza pero kaya niyang dalhin ang role ng isang nagkakalkal ng basura, jeepney driver, or katulong na inaapi api…kasi po sa mga pinoy halos lahat ng pumipila eh mga taong mahihirap na nangangarap na someday magiging giginhawa din ang buhay nila gaya nung mga nasa movies…remember when Sharon Cuneta became the most famous star in the Philippines…she did so many movies na puro mahihirap ang roles nya…hindi sya kasing galing ng ibang singers pero nagkaroon ng stampede sa LA when she had a concert during those years…also Judy Ann in Mara Clara and other mahihirap roles or Kristine Hermosa in Pangako sa ‘Yo (mahirap na umibig sa mayaman) …so Irish goodluck sa ‘yo…I know sisikat ka if u take the right path and image na makakarelate both the elites at mga nagdidildil ng asin.

pda addict… i really believe Yeng should win… sa achievements palang nya inside the academy, dapat talaga sya ang manalo… halos lahat naman e consciously or subconsciously ang feeling mananalo si Yeng eh.. kasi milya naman talaga ang agwat ni Yeng sa ibang scholars… sa talent, sa appeal sa masa, atbp katangian na papatok sa masa… halos lahat ng tao alam ang Hawak Kamay… bata man o matanda… pati nga ata mga taga GMA kinakanta ang Hawak Kamay… kumpara sa Hilot… malayo na ang narating ng Hawak Kamay…. at ung ibang kinanta ni Yeng sa PDA albums 1-4, either sya ang nagcompose or ininterpret lang nya… patok na patok sa tenga ng masa…
