Yeng at 18
Yeng recently celebrated her birthday at the academy. The scholars, teachers, friends and family members were there to celebrate the moment with her. She wore a nice yellow gown but has that ‘baduy’ shoe, looking like a Robertson snickers made into boots. I seem not to like the combination. Masakit sa mata tingnan. Maybe its just me.
She danced with 18 men who are most special to her. Headmaster Jim was the first then the scholars, her band mates , brothers, RJ then her father last. RJ was very nervous and sometimes irritating as he kept on asking Yeng — Ok lang bahhh?.

The band ‘Hale’ also joined the celebration as they sang a couple of their famous hit songs. Yeng joyfully jammed with them.
I almost forgot, RJ did compose a song for Yeng as well. Nice song, though Yeng seems not to flush any emotions when RJ sang it.
Anyways, Yeng is leading the polls and got a big chance of winning this competition. Though she’s not my favorite, Im betting my 5 pesos that she will win.

Ronnie for being soft-spoken as always…and he is a very nice friend i guess…i like also his close-knit family….when JAY-R accompanied him to their church, it was indeed a great time for both of them….
with ROSITA, i like her being the ATE of the PDA, the warmth she gives to all her co-scholar, like a MOTHERLY WARMTH…especially to yeng…and she’s trying to show her being a COMEDY …she can give a hilarious infectious laugh too…honestly, i like her being like an elder sister…coz i have no sister nor brother, sooo i like rosita as my sister….that’s all….
for Panky because i know how WITTY she is deep inside…although she maybe a bit ROUGH for all of us but i just like the way she exudes her talent to all of us…as HM Jim would relate, Panky is truly an artist in her own way….
Yvan….i wanna see a different style because his style is almost the same with Gary Valenciano, though he is not dancing on stage, he can be like Christian, Martin too…lots of them already…I want him to have his own style sooo he will leave a DISTINCT MARK to the people…
basta lately, they’re trying their best to be NICER…or i can see the PEACE inside the academy…the UNITY too…especially when they were counting the hours of yeng’s birthday….i wasn’t sleeping that night too…i was just watching them over the youtube, thanks to lookilu for sharing the vids…..i love it!!! i watched that episode in advance before it was shown over my tfc…i first watched it on my 24/7 live or youtube.com….it was sooo exciting for all of them trying to give JOY to yeng’s bday….they waited until the clock struck 12midnite………goshhhhh it really exciting!!!

Agree Agree ako ki Fair. I’ve watched RJ and Yeng since the beginning and
talaga po naman napakabait at walang kaplastikan si RJ. He’s a gentleman
and astig mag alaga ng friendship. Kaya naman gusto siya ni Yeng. I don’t

yup. what if joan was the one having her debut inside the academy? hindi naman sa hindi niya deserve yung party. pero sana hindi naman to the extent na 4 episodes was devoted for her. kahit sabihing sikat na siya talaga at maraming tao ang gustong panoorin yung bday niya parang hindi lang fair sa ibang scholars considering that this is supposed to be a contest.

Another face-off between two scholars? This seems to happen more and more often, given the tension the students feel as they count off the few days remaining before the Star Dream Night. This one, however, started from a small misunderstanding after an enjoyable night (Yeng’s party, nonetheless) and blew up the following day, during Teacher Sweet’s class.
Yvan was given an iPod so he could listen to his song before rehearsals. Rosita wanted to borrow it, so he complied; but just to make sure, he asked Rosita if she was familiar with the gadget. She took this negatively and answered back, to which Yvan said: “Ikaw naman, lahat ng sinasabi mo, lagi mo namang pinepersonal.â€
The following day, Yvan explained to the other scholars what happened, and Panky remarked that Rosita did have a tendency to misunderstand sometimes. Teacher Sweet also shared the same sentiments, for during rehearsals she asked Rosita why she looked so glum. Rosita told her, but Yvan was also there to explain: “Tinanong ko lang kung alam niyang gamitin nag iPod, tapos sabi niya ‘nakakainsulto ka’ at hinagis ang iPod. Humihingi ako ng pasensya.’†Rosita quipped after: “Oo nga pala, ignorante ako.â€
Teacher Sweet, while watching the proceedings, told Rosita: “Makinig ka kay Yvan. You are being overly sensitive.†When the latter said “binabale-wala ko lang,†the teacher explained: “Hindi mo siya pinapansin eh. Kahit nakakainsulto, huwag mo masyadong dibdibin. This is coming from a sensitive person.†She also left Rosita with this message: “You’re putting yourself down again.â€
ROSITA WITH HER REAL TALENT
1)self pity/insecurities - akoy’ mahirap lang, ako’y katulong lang, ako’y ina-api, ako’y pangit, pulubi blah blah blah…sino bang hindi naghirap? all of em the scholars had their own life experiences… irish self supporting student she’s been into jobs after jobs for her to get schooling, yvan is a family man and has to work 2to3 jobs at a tym for his family drove taxi in the morning and sing at the bar in the evning, jay-r has to stop schooling to help his family they doesn’t even have television - I mean it’s not only your rosita had experienced difficulty in lyf all of em did pero bakit natatanging si rosita lang ang panay self-pity with her paawa effect? c’mon di kasalanan ng ibang scholars kung marunong silang tumanggap ng kahirapan in a positive way pero si Rosita kinakasangkapan nya para kaawaan sya… grow up rosing!
2)super immature - di marunong tumanggap ng constructive criticism lyk all the teachers were tellin her katuwiran dito katuwiran dyan - sir Moi told her not to be too defensive, teacher maribeth said she’s “adilantada”, teacher gege said “reklamador”, teacher sweet said “tigas-ulo”, in teacher malou’s class she doesn’t want to cooperate the mirror activity kasi nagmumukha daw syang tanga? no humility at all - she lost her patience in a bit / disrepectful-palasagot / anger problem-parang bombang magalaw ng kaunti sumasabog / filthy and flirting all the time with all the male scholars, headmaster even flirting with the camera - is this how u want others to think of DH as your representative?

i don’t think that ABS will do that to yeng. obvious naman kulang na lang na iannounce nila na “and the winner is yeng constantino!” sa bawat episode. para ngang iniimpluwensyahan nila yung boto ng mga tao. imagine, di pa tapos yung contest apat na kanta ni yeng ang ginagamit sa mga commercial and whatnot. hindi lang fair kasi iba talaga yung exposure na binibigay for yeng.

she’s someone who sounds good and can dance sooo well. she’s the total package. she’ll blossom into one of the country’s most promising talents given more time and practice. i hope that people have noticed her work ethic and her levelheadedness. i like her so much because even if she was raised in the states, she still seems to embody the modern filipina. hope we get her to the top 6.
