uhm, ive read some forums / shoutboxes na puro away ng mga fans ang laman. pls lang. ginagago nyo lng sarili nyo. tinatawanan na cguro kayo sa iba na nkabasa sa inyong comments. hindi nga nag-aaway ang mga manok nyo, tapos kayo nag-aaway? o.O ??. we all have choices. nasa sa atin kung sino ang ating susuportahan. kung ayaw nyo sa isang scholar, pls lang, wag kayong mangla-it. nasasaktan din ang iba na sumusuporta sa scholar na sinisiraan mo. kung ayaw nyong siraan ang manok mo, wag kayong manla-it. you’ll look like an uneducated person if ginawa mo yun. diba may point ako?

uhm, it was a good fight everyone. it somehow left a smile on everyone’s face. though may iba sa atin na dissapointed dahil hindi manok nila ang nanalo, it was still fun supporting PDA. The laughs, tears, moments,..everything, we enjoyed it; and we will surely miss it.

Obviously I am an YVAN fan but as I said before it’s only between YVAN and YENG if it was based on talent… so am happy that it’s YENG who won… This isn’t a surprise to me though coz when they booted out YVAN I know for sure that there’s no competition left among the 6 anymore… I MEANT THAT AMONG THE top 6 remaining IT WAS OBVIOUSLY YENG WHO STANDS OUT TALENT-WISE so with that being said COMPETITION WAS OVER then! had they not booted out YVAN and make it as a talent base competition - THE FINAL SHOWDOWN WOULD BE SO EXCITING …! anyways…

life. I don’t have to hurry home or wake up as early as 5:30 am on Saturdays just
to watch the show. I learned so much sa mga teachers especially kay Kichie
Molina. Na apply ko talaga ang mga singing techniques nila in my performance

Ang saya ng PDA, the grand finale was superb that won’t regret watching it the ‘nth time. Panky’s performance was really great, most especially her farewell song. She was a true sportsman, and Irish too, there was no sad expressions on their face (Panky and Irish) no rancor in their hearts. What is important to them is to just enjoy their performance. This is a trait of a true performer. Calling recording companies I truly believe that Yeng, Jay-R, Panky, Yvan, and Joan deserve a recording contract. THEY ARE TRUE TALENTS. I know deeply that the voting last night was above board. Malas lang si Panky, hindi nya makuha ang boto ng kalalakihan dahil tomboyish siya, at hindi rin nya kuha ang votes ng kababaihan dahil babae siya, but for her land 4th is no mean feat.

I could see how Ronnie really tried his best and worked on the talent he has however raw. It was heartening to watch his teachers sing with him and appreciate in their eyes and gestures that they were enjoying the fruits of their labor kay Ronnie. This is Ronnie’s best performance in PDA! Nanginginig pa but he sustained all the high notes, hindi kinapos ng hininga!! Plus emote talaga sya sa Nais Ko- a very difficult song!!! COngrats Ronnie, I hope your star will shine and that ABS CBN will bank on and develop your potential. Potential hitmaker ka!!!

I also appreciated Panky’s openness and sincerity. Dulce herself commended Panky for her being open. She was not disappointed because she knew how her character in the early days of PDA had already been instilled in the minds of the masa. Alam niya even with her talent, hindi sya popular. I bet she even thought sya yung lowest ang votes. She had just focused on a great performance to rock Araneta. She acknowledged that she has changed and that change would not have happened if it weren’t for PDA. Galing!!! I hope she trims down further and make the right connections (like Boy Abunda- who I believe has also noticed her potential) . Go Panky! Conquer the world!

To Chad- this guy rocks in his own quiet way!! The ever humble, loving class President! I salute you! Your version of “Theme from Love Story” aka “Where do I begin” was a unique, one-of-a kind moving one. I appreciated it 100%!!!!

To Irish - galing ng duet niyo ni Ronnie - you looked good together, sounded good too together. Your performance was better than your previous ones except for that obvious flat note- siguro emotional ka na noon, I understand.

To Jay-R- I pray for a bright future for you man… no more time for laziness and bumming around. The world is yours… take advantage!

To Yeng- you are still young. Magpasalamat ka sa ABS CBN who knew you were the crowd favortie- binihisan ka pa at inayusan nang husto - preparing you for the night’s announcement. Yeng, ‘PDA’ Grand Dreamer

FROM the start of the Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) show at the Araneta Coliseum kung saan pinili ang Grand Dreamer from among the six honor list of scholars, alam na ng lahat na malaki ang tsansa ni Yeng Constantino na manalo.

This was based on the applause and roar she got from the crowd.

Until Jay-R Siaboc took centerstage and started to do his ‘thing.’

Aba, magaling palang sumayaw ang loko. ’Yong sayaw na akin to dirty dancing, pero wika nga, may kaunting finesse.

Before everyone knew it, alam na ng karamihan na siya na ang magiging paborito ng audience. Everything Jay-R did while singing Kisapmata, ay sinasabayan ng audience ng palakpak, kaya, ganadung-ganado siya.

Ganunpaman, malakas din ang palakpakang narinig when Yeng was finally announced as the first PDA Grand Dreamer. First runner-up si Jay-R, which is good enough.

For him, winning a one-bedroom unit sa Chateau Valenzuela, P500,000 cash prize from Fitrum and a 29-inch tv set is more than he expected. After all, what did he possess daw ba before entering the Academy?

At 19, Jay-R was a tambay sa kanilang lugar sa Toledo, Cebu City. Once in a while, nagtatrabaho siya sa construction para magkapera. Hirap kasi silang suportahan ng ama (Eduardo, Jay-R is his dad’s junior), na isang jeepney driver. Ang kanilang ina naman ay isang government employee. Youngest si Jay-R of five kids.

Ayon sa kanya, may mga araw when they could barely have three meals a day. Siya nga raw, binubusog na lang ang sarili sa tubig ’pag umuuwi ng bahay at walang makitang pagkain. At kapag tuloy pa ring kumalam ang sikmura, dinadala na lang sa tulog.

“Awa ng Diyos,” aniya, “nakararaos naman ang bawat araw na buhay kaming lahat. Every day is always another day, dahil kapag may pera naman, nakakakain kami ng inihaw o lechon manok (which happens to be two of his favorites).”

Ang isang hindi niya malilimutang pangyayari ay nang magkasakit siya at hindi mabili ang gamot na inireseta ng doctor sa center dahil walang kapera-pera ang ama’t ina.

Walang tv set sina Jay-R, kaya wala siyang kaalam-alam tungkol sa nagaganap na audition sa nearby Cebu City for PDA. Isang pinsan ang nagbalita sa kanyatungkol sa audition.

Alam kasi nitong may boses siya, dahil paminsan-minsan, kinukuha si Jay-R ng isang banda sa kanilang lugar para kumanta.

At first, nagdalawang-isip siyang sumali. Una, dahil mamamasahe siya. Pangalawa, wala siyang isusuot na damit.

Nabigyan ito ng solusyon nang may magpautang sa kanya ng pamasahe at magpahiram ng damit.

He might have looked different daw from among the auditioners, which numbered to about 2,000, kaya napasama siya nang napasama habang tini-trim down ang number ng mga gustong sumali.

Dahil may bigote at ang suot ngang damit ay alam siguro ng mga ‘namimili’ na ‘pinaglipasan’ na ng ilang bihis, ayun, he looked different.

Kahit daw ’di napasama si Jay-R sa top 3 at nanalo nga bilang first runner-up, he would have felt grateful to the PDA just the same.

Maraming daw binago sa buhay niya ang ilang weeks na pamimirmihan sa loob ng Academy. Naranasan niya ang kumain ng tatlong beses sa isang araw, may merienda pa, nang ’di pinu-problema kung saan ito manggagaling.

Nagkaroon siya ng maraming kaibigan, bagama’t ang itinuturing niyang best friend ay si Emman Abatayo. ’Di ipinagkakaila ni Jay-R na ilang araw niyang ininda ang pagka-expel ni Emman sa Academy.

From hereon, especially next year, tiyak na malaki ang mararanasang pagbabago ni Jay-R sa buhay, pati na rin ang kanyang pamilya.

Napakalaki ng pontential na maging big name siya sa industriya, lalo na sa larangan ng pag-awit.

A recording contract already awaits him sa Star Records which Malou Santos, managing director of Star Cinema, also heads.

advise lang…medyo bawasan mo yung pagka-OA mo minsan…pero tingin ko naman eh matutunan mo rin yan lalo na may mga advisers ka na sa showbiz…

1. YENG - ang galing ng pagkanta…talagang nasa puso nya yung awit…maganda ang melody…maganda ang lyrics…PATOK!!!…talagang inaabangan ko bawat pag-awit kahit sa replay ng PDA…….magaling na bata…
2. JAY-R - sayang naman bakit KISAP-MATA yung kinanta…boring sa huli dahil paulit-ulit yung lyrics, tapos ala man lang binago sa pagkanta…halos parehas lang ng rivermaya….di ako nag-enjoy..quite boring…pero tama yung prediction ko na pangalawa sya….sana iba na lang kinanta nya..
3. RONNIE - yung kinanta nya eh parang pang BAGONG KAMPEON..boring din…walang sinabi talaga kay YENG..pero ok naman performance ni RONNIE pero para talaga syang kapeng matabang ang templa….kulang pa…kung di lang sya gwapo siguro di sya aabot sa top-6…..

para may pan laban namn ang abs cbn… pra hndi na sila kailangan mag hire ng singer sa ibang station para pasikatin nila…. kasi ang produkto ng kanilang con test ay hindi masyadong kagalingan..

bakit parang nadidiri si yeng kay rj kahapon ng kumanta sila sa ASAP. di man lamang nya tinitingnan at nung magkatabi sila nung umupo eh umusod papalayo pa si yeng. kawawa naman si rj, mukhang napunta sa wala yung pagsisikap at paghihintay nya kay yeng sa labas.

the finale was great, d masyadong uptight! i like the production number where the teachers sang the scholar’s songs! the best! especially yung “hilot” galing talga ng the company! i can’t wait for the next PDA. galing talaga! you could really see the improvements ng mga scholars. before they entered the academy, raw pa masyado yung talent nila, ngayon, sobrang galing na nila, sa singning, dancing, composing songs, performing, and even their personalities were changed (for the better).

I know it’s late pero i-sight ko na din po ang personal opinion ko…

luto lang daw yung pagkapanalo ni yeng, c ronnie daw tlga nag dominate sa text votes and 2nd lang c yeng. binawasan daw ng abs yung votes ni ronnie kasi nakita nla na mas sisikat daw c yeng kesa kay ronnie. pero ronnie got the most no. of votes.

a friend said this to me. which is true daw sbi nya kasi yung friend nya works in abs. one thing din daw na kaya niluto yung pagkapanalo is nka sign na ata c ronnie sa universal records and c yeng sa star records.

Yup nakausap nya c JAY-R. Wala pong phone c JAY-R. Mario, his manager, ang tumawag. Phone po ni Mario ang ginamit.

May ktext na c JAY-R but his globe phone ay hindi pa yata nabigay. All honor listers have ktext na.

The Top6 will have their int’l tour starting February next year

So, how does it feel to have played an active part in pushing Cebuano Jay-R Siaboc up to reach his dream in the recently-concluded reality TV show Pinoy Dream Academy? Fulfilling? Satisfying? Unexplainable?

Jay-R’s stage appeal and charm (not to mention his singing prowess) were very evident right from the start of the Grand Dream Night. While fellow Honors Listers Chad and Ronnie were also trying to give their best shot, Jay-R was simply hard to beat.

He was so graceful in their dance sequences and natural in his song numbers. The problem then sets in: there were two Cebuanos in the Honors List of six, with Panky Trinidad also proving to be formidable competition.

Now the question is: had there been only one Cebuano in the last six scholars, would Jay-R have emerged as the Grand Star Dreamer instead of just be the second placer to Yeng Constantino?

Can’t exactly tell. What’s sure, though, is that Jay-R’s rise to fame has started. With proper guidance (Cebu-based manager Mario Colmenares can ably provide some of that), Lady Luck’s further approval, humility, determination and everything good, Jay-R’s second place win might prove to be an ace up his sleeve.

Many second placers had emerged to become bigger stars than the big winners themselves in the past. Jay-R might be the latest addition to the list if he plays his cards right and if he keeps his feet planted firmly on the ground.

Go right on, young man! Prove to your fellow Visayans that their text votes were not in vain!

I agree hinahanap hanap nga ng system ko ang forum. It is good regular na ang top 6 sa ASAP. I have gotten to talk with a lot of friends. Iba iba talaga rin sila ng gusto. Pero maraming looking forward to what Panky will show in this business.

Ang swerte naman if they tour! I hope for Third and Carla that they will go to Las Vegas too! If anything, deserve din nila mamasyal and of course aside from the theme parks (Disneyland, Calfornia Adventure, Universal Studios) in LA maganda ding maexperience nila maghotel hopping man lang sa Las Vegas. and watch the lights sa Strip. Di ba THird? Kahit walang perang pangcasino….
